Coltsford Mill, in Surrey is mentioned in the Domesday Book and at over 940 years old is an exclusive twelve acre estate comprising four acres of picturesque trout water containing two lakes, the Willow and the Mill, each fed by the River Eden, which in turn also feeds the Top Cascade and the Lower Cascade. The River Eden flows into Kent where it becomes a tributary of the River Medway.
Coltsford Mill, map reference 51.238 N, 0.000 E is exactly on the Greenwich Meridian which runs through the main lake, the Mill.
This Lake covers a total of 2.5 Acres and is river fed by the Eden. With good average depths of 7-8 ft the lake is well established and offers the experienced angler a chance to fish natural patterns with a Floating Line, Nymphs, Buzzers & Dry Fly.
A smaller lake of 1.5 Acres, also river fed from the Eden. With greater depths than the Mill Pond, fishing is with heavier lines and Lures seem to be the best method to success. This Pool offers an attractive backdrop of Hawthorn trees & vegetation with good Dry fly sport close to these margins.
Fed from the Mill pond via a 15ft conical flow bringing good, oxygenated water to the tree lined cascade. Average depths 4-8ft.
This water is fed from the Upper Cascade via a waterfall before returning to the River Eden and has average depths of 4-8 ft. Popular with beginners & novices due to it's size.
All lakes are regularly stocked with hard fighting fish from our own stock pond.
Predominantly Rainbows but also Blues, Browns and in the colder months Spartic & Tigers.
The fish currently average around 2.5lb in weight with plenty of fish at 4-6lb with the occasional large specimen to be had.
